Camp Oven Cooking & Cocktail Party at Dave's Place

Ian ran a Camp Oven cooking weekend up at Dave's property at Wiseman's Ferry. He showed everyone how to 'season' the new oven & prepare it for use. James had made sure we had a roaring fire so that there were heaps of red hot coals to get the ovens working.

Everyone brought along their ingredients for scones, pizza and roast dinner and set about preparing their own recipe. Michael was not able to stay for the full day so he improvised by cooking a steak on the barbie over the coals. While Kath and Margaret had made their own pizza dough, Dave went to another level with his 'McCain Camp Oven Pizza Delights' !!!!. Not to worry it is all about knowing how to cook in the oven isn't it Dave???.      Rob was really showing off his skills by tossing the pizza dough a few times in the air like the experts do

Everyone's pizza turned out really well and then it was time to get the evening roast happening. Before long there was an unbelievable aroma filtering through the air from the contents of the Camp Ovens. Mark even made up a batch of Yorkshire Puddings to go with our roast...mmmmm delicious.

After dinner was over we then finished off a terrific day with some tasty cocktails made by Margaret & Ian. Before long Dave and Mark were soon having a go at making their own concoctions.

It was a great weekend and thanks again to Dave for allowing us to come up to his great property by the water.
