Hi every one I would just like to say what a great weekend we had, everyone made us feel like family, as it was our first time with the Club.

We got to McDonald's at Dural early and we couldn't wait to go. We arrived the same time as Mark and had breakfast then waited for the rest to arrive. Ian gave us a 2 way so we could talk on the way. I must say I was a bit nervous at first but got the hang of it. We met up with Lynn, Roger, Ann and Peter at Wiseman's Ferry, then went across the river to Dave's place. We all picked our camping spots then it's time for a cup of tea. Everyone was so friendly and we felt really comfortable.

For lunch we had sausage and onion on bread then we got into two groups to play bocce. It was my first time playing and our group won. We all had a good laugh along the way. Before long it was time for the Cocktail Party so we all chipped in getting things ready then got dressed in black & white. I think we can all say that Lynn & Roger looked great. By the next day Roger had put some meat on them bones.

We also had a Michael Jackson look-a-like come over from next door. They were having a 50th birthday party, so we didn't have to worry about the noise too much. I also found out that Ernie loves to chop fire wood and look after the BIG fire we had, he was making sure that it didn't go out all night.

Margaret and Ian made the night with their cocktails. We had a menu with pictures to go back to later, even Dave got stuck into the drinks. When Ian and Margaret went inside to get the beautiful cocktail food, I went back three and four times to try some more cocktails.

We had a range of finger food eg. pork fingers, seafood claws, chicken skewers, prawn sticks, and Ann's favorite, money bags, and that was just some of the food. For dessert there was Apple Crumble in custard, little Carrot Cakes, Chocolate Éclairs, mini Cheesecakes squares, custard and cream. I must say I was blown away with the food as I didn't expect this kind of food. I said to Ernie that we joined the right 4 Wheel Drive Club

For all of you that didn't come you missed a really good night and guess what, it didn't  RAIN.

Sunday morning we had  bacon, eggs, mushroom, tomatoes and toast. Some got up early and the rest of us got up later. I had a small headache so I had some panadol and a cup of tea. Then it was lunch before we knew it, we had another sausage sizzle and leftover cakes and dessert.

There was so much food that I don't think I will eat for the next couple of days. We all helped clean up then it was time to leave. At first I didn't want a 2 way radio but it got the better of me when it was time to go across the river, it was then that I couldn't stop talking to everyone on the way home. I also found out how handy they are when Dave radioed that a motor bike was coming up.

We're looking forward to the next time away which is the Christmas in July Party.

Thank you everyone for making us feel welcome.

 Cheers Julie & Ernie
